Project Overview

Mark Fidelman is the founder of SmartBlocks, an agency dedicated to developing and executing marketing strategies for cryptocurrency technologies and businesses. He is also the host of the hit podcast, “Cryptonized.” 

Having a strong presence in social media, Mark is often a leading voice in the conversation surrounding all things crypto. Most notably, Mark has been featured in various articles, TV interviews, and radio shows discussing the breaking news stories in the industry. With Mark’s knowledge of DeFi, he hopes to educate and inspire crypto enthusiasts about these innovative projects that are brought to the market.

The Problem

When Mark came to Otter PR, he was seeking help with brand awareness surrounding SmartBlocks and Tetraguard, which was the token that the agency was bringing to the market. Mark’s goal was to launch Tetraguard, generate interest around the token, and educate a broader audience of DeFi/crypto enthusiasts. 

Mark also expressed wanting to further position himself as a thought leader in the cryptocurrency space, particularly in the realm of DeFi.

The Strategy

In order to accomplish Mark’s media coverage goals, Otter PR created a list of Mark’s top outlets that revolved around business, investments, and crypto. We then began targeting our outreach to those reporters within these industries. Some of these outlets included CoinTelegraph, CoinDesk, TechCrunch, Forbes, Business Insider, and Yahoo! Finance.

Another strategy Otter PR decided to pursue was to capitalize as much as possible on the trending news of the crypto/DeFi space. With Mark’s knowledge of the industry and willingness to speak about current trends at length, we began to leverage his expertise to those targeted outlets.

As we approached various media outlets and began to receive incoming interview requests or quick email commentary, Mark understood the need to be available and responsive. While there were days when it may have seemed overwhelming, given the state of the crypto industry and the continuous, we quickly started to see continuous media success.

Due to the nature of the cryptocurrency industry, we were able to position Mark as a leading thought leader surrounding events like the crypto market crash and the FTX collapse.

Business Impact (results)

Through our team’s efforts, Mark has become one of the leading voices in the cryptocurrency space, being featured in goal outlets such as Business Insider, Yahoo! Finance, CoinDesk, and TechCrunch. In addition, Mark has become a recurring guest on news programs such as NTD Business and KNX News 97.1 FM’s radio program, “In Depth.” 

We were also able to secure a regular contributorship with HackerNoon, where Mark has been able to create brand awareness around Tetraguard and opine on the latest developments in DeFi.
