Project Overview
Saeid Hejazi is the CEO and co-founder of Wally GPT, the world’s very first personal finance management app powered by AI. Whether you’re saving to go on vacation, looking to pay off debt, or simply want to track your expenses, Wally can help you get started today — entirely free.
With Wally GPT, users can easily take control of their personal finances directly from a mobile app on their smartphone. Instead of paying someone to help you pay down debt or understanding spending, Wally will allow you to do it all yourself using the transformative power of AI.
With connectivity available to over 15,000 banks in more than 70 countries around the world, Wally GPT lets users securely connect and track their bank accounts, personal loans, credit cards, and investments all in one place. The app’s AI-powered assistant even provides users with expert-level financial advice to help them track spending, bill payments, cash flow, and more so they can meet their goals with the simple click of a button.
The Problem
When Otter PR initially met with Hejazi, he informed us that his company was seeking press for further visibility — and, therefore, credibility — within the booming AI space. However, because he and Wally are headquartered in the Middle East, they were encountering some issues gaining traction in the media.
As one a leading PR firm in the US, our team at Otter PR knew we could easily build buzz about Wally GPT, its innovative AI-powered platform, and Hejazi’s leadership in the US. Utilizing our extensive media network, Otter PR quickly set to work crafting a custom, comprehensive strategy for Wally GPT and Hejazi by capitalizing on the constant embargo of global headlines featuring new innovations in AI technology.
The Strategy
A core component of our comprehensive media strategy for Wally GPT involved seeking opportunities to position Hejazi as an emerging thought leader in AI by positioning Wally GPT as the first financial AI-powered app of its kind. This approach allowed us to generate some immediate valuable successes, given the hot-topic nature of AI in media, which placed Wally GPT as a key fit for most trending topics in the space.
To this extent, some of the most successful pitch angles Otter PR generated included “Making Better Investing Decisions Using AI,” “How to Take Control of Your Personal Finances,” and “How AI & FinTech are revolutionizing the world.” Due to Hejazi’s emphasis on making personal financial management easier for everyone with Wally GPT, we also crafted several pitches tailored to younger audiences and entrepreneurs, including “How High School Students Can Learn Financial Literacy” to help secure their financial future.
Business Impact (results)
Due to the largely unilateral nature and audiences of these pitches, Wally GPT received consistent traction in the media as topics around AI and finance continued to stay relevant throughout 2023. A press release that Otter PR drafted for them that summer was picked up by several top-tier outlets in the financial and AI sectors, including The Fintech Times and GO Banking Rates, leading to a full company feature in Yahoo! Finance.
Furthermore, as a result of Otter PR’s comprehensive media strategy, Wally GPT and Hejazi were featured in several other top-tier outlets, including The Motley Fool, Bankrate, and Cyber Defense Magazine. Wally GPT was also mentioned on CNBC TV largely due to its innovative features, myriad benefits, and how the app could be used by anyone, anywhere in the world.
As a result of Otter PR’s efforts, Hejazi was able to grow Wally GPT’s brand reach across the globe and expand into new consumer markets, hitting the rank of the #1 financial app in 22 countries throughout 2023. Even after our team was able to help Hejazi meet his PR goals for Wally GPT by producing hundreds of pieces of coverage to reach a collective audience of 1.5 billion readers and viewers, both he and his app continue to be featured in prestigious publications months after their contract with Otter PR concluded.
