Project Overview

Bearbottom Clothing, founded by Robert Felder, is a menswear line that is made for the everyday. As an e-commerce brand, Bearbottom Clothing is seeking the press to further establish brand awareness and credibility. As a menswear clothing brand that specializes in sustainable and ethical manufacturing practices and materials, Bearbottom Clothing wants to make its mission and ethics visible to its consumers. Wear-tested by their entire team, Bearbottom is passionate about making clothes they are proud to wear. They have developed products that are made with post-consumer-recycled materials, contain natural dyes, and contribute less overall waste. Manufactured using ethical practices, Bearbottom strives to do things differently.

The Problem *

Bearbottom Clothing wants to further establish its credibility and brand awareness. They had very little media presence, so they needed to build their brand from the ground up media-wise. As an e-commerce company without a storefront, they needed good reviews and press to help first-time buyers trust that they were receiving a high-quality product.

The Strategy *

As a team, we have aimed to target gift guides by embracing holidays and major events through our pitches. This has landed success in major publications such as Forbes, Men’s Health, and Travel + Leisure. We have also made sure to highlight Robert and his contribution to Bearbottom Clothing’s success, as well as his role in establishing the brand as ethical and sustainable. Overall, we cater to the types of activities Bearbottom Clothing prepares consumers for, such as traveling, athletics, and working from home. Catering to these specific topics allowed us to better cater to specific target publications.

Business Impact (results) *

Utilizing pr has helped Bearbottom Clothing to better communicate its mission to “make the most comfortable and versatile menswear around” to its target audiences. Robert Felder and Bearbottom Clothing were featured in Business Insider for their ability to survive inflation without rising prices which illustrated their financial success as well as dedication to prioritizing customer’s experiences. Through the press, Bearbottom Clothing has been able to showcase new products and bring in more sales. Bearbottom has now been with Otter PR for a year, in that time, they have been placed in 13 top-tiers, had two news segments that featured their products, and reached an overall audience of 2.24 Million viewers.
