A Little About Myself
Background:
Pilar was born and raised in Woodstock, Georgia until she moved to Ohio for college, where she graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations, a minor in English, and a master’s degree in media and journalism. During her time as an undergrad, she also played on the Kent State women’s lacrosse team and served as a graduate assistant for Kent State’s athletic marketing department while earning her master’s.
Pilar’s expertise in marketing, client communication, and developing creative strategies to quickly resolve issues make her a strong addition to our team here at Otter PR. As part of the Raft, her ability to create and foster meaningful, lifelong relationships with key media stakeholders helps her clients maximize their coverage and brand presence to exceed their PR goals.

Pilar is incredibly passionate about health and wellness, so she loves working with clients who are looking to grow their personal and professional brands in the industry. However, she enjoys working with clients from many other industries — including finance and fintech, femtech, HVAC, marketing/lead generation, insurance, solar energy, interior design, psychology, data privacy, AI, and more — so she can learn as much new and valuable information as possible to help better serve her clients.
Since joining Otter PR, Pilar has gotten her clients coverage in top-tier publications like USA Today, CBS News, Yahoo, Associated Press, Huff Post, and many other renowned media outlets. She also helps various clients with regular content for contributor programs to Forbes Business Council and Psychology Today.

Pilar currently lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, and is a huge proponent of anything related to personal fitness. When she isn’t working, she loves taking time to travel, enjoy the outdoors (especially if it’s at the beach!), and play with her pet cat, Oliver.
