Background:

Kelly is originally from northern Virginia, but has lived in Florida since 2013. She attended Virginia Tech and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in English with a focus in pre-education, and later went on to get her Master’s degree in Teaching.

Before transitioning into the PR field, Kelly was a high school English teacher in various school districts in Virginia and Florida for 10 years. She has also worked in the hospitality and tourism industries.

Since joining Otter PR, Kelly has used her extensive background to achieve a multitude of top-tier successes for a diverse range of clients across over 15 industries and niche markets. Some of her most prominent wins include coverage for her clients in international media outlets such as FOX Business, Yahoo!, Men’s Journal, Forbes, and AOL, as well as both local and nationwide television coverage on CBS, FOX, and ABC.

Kelly enjoys working with clients in the education, travel, hospitality, tourism, wellness, and HR industries. She has even spent time promoting herself within these industries and feels extremely comfortable doing the same for her clients. She says how her experience in these fields makes it much more fun to discover new things and hear different perspectives.

Otter Things to Know:

Kelly’s favorite thing to do is travel, and she is lucky enough to have been to over 40 countries. She began her own travel blog in 2014 when she worked in Italy for a few months. Since then, her blog has blossomed into Snap Travel Magic, a travel blog for Globetrotting 9-5ers. In addition to travel, she loves to do anything that keeps her in the present moment like surfing, reading fantasy books, and yoga.

Kelly holds a Florida professional teaching license for grades 6-12, an EMT license, and a certified Firefighter certificate. She also attended numerous conferences and workshops to learn more about photography, SEO, branding, pitching, writing, and business management.
