I have a B.S. in Sociology and started my own wedding and portrait photography that landed me a distinction as one of the Top 100 Senior Portrait Photographers in the US. I have always written as well, whether it be on my own blog or freelance for local newspapers like The Beloit Daily News.
I currently live in Janesville, Wisconsin but my family and I are relocating to Orlando, Florida late this fall (2021). I have a B.S. in Sociology and originally wanted to work in hospice, but I caught the entrepreneurial bug and started my own wedding and portrait photography business in 2008. That business was successful for 13 years, landing me a distinction as one of the Top 100 Senior Portrait Photographers in the US as well as accolades for a hospice photography program I started.
I have always written as well, whether it be on my own blog (www.typeaimages.com) or freelance for local newspapers like The Beloit Daily News. I am also in the midst of writing a book about long term care in the US (that, like most writers, I may never finish!) I have various hobbies, including cross stitch and going to concerts with my husband (I am a big fan of Jimmy Eat World and the doom metal band Ghost..weird, I know).
I have a sometimes unhealthy obsession with the show Hamilton and anything turn of the century, from books to houses. I live with my husband of 15 years (who I met through high school theater) and my three red-headed daughters Betty, Molly, & Bridget.
Fun fact: I once served Johnny Cash a slushie.
