Project Overview
Chas Sampson is an Iraq War veteran and the founder of Seven Principles, a company that advocates for veterans transitioning out of the military by maximizing their VA claims for the rest of their life. Seven Principles assists with the VA claims process, appeal cases, entrepreneurship, and more.
Chas previously served as a Decision Officer/VA Rater at the United States Department of Veteran Affairs. He then served at the Pentagon as an Employee and Labor Relations executive at the United States Department of Defense in Washington, D.C.
The Problem
In approaching Otter PR, Chas stated that his PR goal was to be included in regional and national news outlets, including television. He wanted to increase Seven Principles’ brand awareness and SEO with an overflow of data whenever “Chas Sampson” and “Seven Principles” are searched on Google.
The Strategy
Chas’ PR goals required our team to create a media strategy that included digital publications, television, podcasts, radio, prestigious legal awards, and traditional print publications such as trade sites and industry-specific journals. Chas is also a proud single father of two daughters, which enabled us to find opportunities wherein he could share how military members and entrepreneurs can balance their careers with parenting.
Weekly meetings with Chas were essential to understand his point of view and leverage his industry knowledge. These meetings helped us garner publicity that displayed his expertise in veteran affairs, the military, business, as well as entrepreneurship.
Business Impact (results)
One of the most prominent successes Otter PR generated for Chas thus far was a Forbes article where Chas shared why he leveraged his 401k to start his business. He gave business and financial advice to entrepreneurs and startup owners, further solidifying himself as a thought leader in the entrepreneurial space and veteran affairs industry.
Our team also secured big wins for Chas in AARP, Fox 32 Chicago, and a Forbes Audio podcast (distributed on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon, and more). In these interviews, Chas was able to share ways veterans can prepare for C&P exams, why blocking a Senate bill aimed at helping veterans was “detrimental” to those who have served in our armed forces, as well as his life story and career background, respectively.
Following these interviews, Chas reported a distinct growth in his online presence and brand awareness, as shown by his continuous placements in top-tier publications boasting high domain authority ranks. These opportunities will continue to build brand awareness and help educate people about the good work Seven Principles does while simultaneously propelling Chas to become a well-known and well-respected entrepreneur and VA claims expert in his field.
In addition to these successes, our team was also able to publish Wikitia pages for Chas and his company to establish legitimacy and credibility further online.
