The Problem

Dr. Krishna is a notable authority in the medical field and a subject matter expert in mindfulness and meditation. He came to us with the desire to share his expertise in the mindfulness space rather than his medical opinions. Some of his initial goals were to increase his book sales and to increase app downloads.

Part of our initial challenge was that Dr. Krishna had very little media presence and media training. We needed to build a brand for him as an expert in meditation and mindfulness. In order to do this, we started from scratch.

The Strategy

The first step in establishing Dr. Krishna as a subject matter expert in meditation and mindfulness was to capitalize on his authority as an MD and surgeon. This gave him a headstart to getting in the door with some reputable media outlets.

We pitched Dr. Krishna as a highly credible surgeon who coined the phrase “Intermittent silence” which gave him added credibility and allure for reporters and journalists in our network to get to him first and cover his story. After all, in the media, the early bird gets the worm.

In the first months, we also hosted Dr. Krishna on our partner shows so that we could fine-tune his message for maximum impact when he finally appeared on larger shows and interviews with hundreds of thousands of viewers.

The Results

Using the strategy that we have developed and honed for our subject matter experts, we saw massive success for Dr. Krishna. He appeared on national TV and some of the largest podcasts in the nation. He was featured in strong online articles and became a source for multiple reporters.
